User Service Agreement
Effective Date: January 16, 2026
This “User Service Agreement” (hereinafter “Agreement”) is a legal contract between KATA Trans (“the App” or “we”) developed by Mu Maobing (“Developer”) and you (“User”) regarding your use of the App and related services.
NOTICE: Please read this Agreement carefully. Terms involving Restrictions, Disclaimers, Applicable Law, and Dispute Resolution are highlighted in bold. Using the service signifies your acceptance of these terms. (For details, please refer to the Privacy Policy)
1. Service Content & Account Management
1.1 Service Definition
The Service is a multimodal AI translation tool provided by KATA Trans. By integrating underlying large models (Tencent Hunyuan, DeepSeek, iFlyTek, etc.), we provide text translation, speech recognition (ASR), image text extraction (OCR), AI grammar analysis, and iCloud-based data sync.
1.2 Account Security
You log in via Apple ID authorization. This account is your unique identity. You are responsible for the security of your account. We are not liable for data leaks or virtual asset (Credits) losses caused by your personal reasons (e.g., lost device, compromised iCloud account).
1.3 Account Cancellation & Data Deletion
You have the right to terminate the service and cancel your account at any time.
- Delete Server Data: Go to “Settings -> Account -> Delete Server Data” to one-click clear all translation history caches stored on our servers. This action is irreversible.
- Delete Account: Go to “Settings -> Account -> Delete Account” to permanently delete your account. Upon deletion, all your rights (including unused Credits) and history will be permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
2. AI Service Usage Norms
2.1 Scientific Usage
The Service uses deep synthesis and generative AI technology. You understand and agree:
- Nature of Results: Translations and recognition results are probabilistically generated and do not represent our views.
- Accuracy Not Guaranteed: Despite advanced models, we cannot guarantee absolute accuracy, completeness, or error-free content. AI may produce “hallucinations”.
- Not for Sole Reliance: Strictly prohibited to use as the sole basis for medical, legal, financial, or engineering decisions. We assume no liability for losses arising from such reliance.
2.2 User Input Norms
For content you input (text, images, audio):
- Legality: Must not contain illegal information or state secrets.
- Rights: You must own or have authorization for the content; do not infringe on others’ IP or privacy.
- Privacy: Ensure consent if inputting others’ personal information.
2.3 Labeling
We may add explicit or implicit AI labels to generated content. Do not maliciously remove these labels or mislead the public regarding the AI-generated nature.
3. User Conduct (Red Lines)
You must strictly abide by applicable laws and regulations. It is Strictly Prohibited to use the Service to generate or spread:
- Content endangering national security or unity;
- Terrorism, extremism, hate speech, or discrimination;
- Rumors, pornography, gambling, violence, or criminal incitement;
- Insults, defamation, or infringement of others’ rights;
- Competitor Training: Using the Service to develop or train competing algorithms or models.
Violation Handling: We reserve the right to delete content and freeze/ban accounts immediately without notice upon detecting such behavior, and report to authorities.
4. Data Processing & Privacy
We follow “Minimum Necessity” principles:
- Cache Layer (Server): Only pure text records are cached for 3 months to enable roaming. Expired data is physically deleted. We do not store your original images or audio.
- Asset Layer (User iCloud): All data (including large media files and text) is synced to your Apple iCloud Private Storage and stored permanently. Image/Voice files are your private assets managed by Apple keys; we have no access. Text data is cached on our server for 3 months.
- Ownership: You retain IP rights to your original input and the AI-generated translations.
5. Paid Subscription & Auto-Renewal
- Subscription Services
- We offer auto-renewing subscription plans (e.g., Monthly, Yearly).
- Benefits: During the subscription period, you will receive a specific amount of Credits to offset the consumption of advanced AI services (e.g., OCR, ASR). Specific amounts are subject to the subscription page.
- Billing: Payment will be charged to your iTunes Account within 24 hours prior to the start of each billing cycle.
- Auto-Renewal & Cancellation
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- How to Cancel: Go to iPhone “Settings” -> Tap your “Apple ID Avatar” -> Tap “Subscriptions” -> Select “KATA Trans” -> Tap “Cancel Subscription”.
- Refund Policy
- Subscriptions are digital goods and are generally non-refundable once activated.
- For accidental purchases, please request a refund directly through the Apple App Store. The refund decision rests with Apple.
6. Virtual Assets (Credits)
- Nature: Credits are virtual tokens for redeeming advanced AI services (OCR, High-fidelity ASR).
- Non-Refundable: Credits are digital goods. Once purchased, they cannot be refunded, transferred, or exchanged for cash (unless required by law).
- Fraud Prevention:
- Each device can only claim new user rewards once.
- We use Apple Keychain technology to identify unique devices to prevent fraud.
- Any malicious attempt to defraud Credits will result in account banning.
- Rate Adjustment: We reserve the right to adjust Credit consumption rates based on upstream costs. Adjustments will be announced and will not affect your existing balance, only future consumption.
7. Intellectual Property
- App Rights: The App’s software, UI, Logo, and code belong to the developer, protected by copyright law.
- License: You have a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the App. Reverse engineering or scraping is prohibited.
8. Limitation of Liability
- “As Is”: Service is provided “As Is”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.
- Indirect Damages: To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or punitive damages (e.g., data loss, business interruption).
- Liability Cap: Our total cumulative liability shall not exceed the total service fees you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the event.
9. Governing Law
- Jurisdiction: This Agreement is governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China.
- Dispute Resolution: Disputes shall be settled by negotiation; failing that, litigation may be filed in the People’s Court where the developer is located (Chengdu, Sichuan).
